due to the nature of this post, please please proceed with caution. this is scary:

some of you may have heard about this. . . i have just read one of the most alarming things i've come across in quite some time. apparently, there is an "artist" at yale university who has decided for her senior "art project" she thought it a brilliant idea to self-inseminate (as much as possible, might i add.) while taking abortifacient drugs to induce miscarriages over a nine month period.

this woman saved the blood of each miscarriage and video taped it. her goal was to start conversation and debate on the relationship between art and the human body. to display the project, she plans to smear the blood, mixed with vaseline to keep from drying, on plastic sheeting, and play the videos of herself collecting blood after each miscarriage.

what is this world coming to? how can people do this for ART PROJECTS? mutilating the body and taking lives hardly qualifies as art. she is abusing her constitutional rights and it is sick and wrong. my heart aches for this girl... i don't understand what she's trying to prove. she is just hurting so many many people in this process.

i am a thief. . .
  • Pick 15 of your favorite movies.
  • Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie (or quote them from memory).
  • Post them on your blog for everyone to guess.
  • Fill in the film title once it’s been guessed.
These are the players’ rules:

  • No Googling or using IMDb search functions (don’t cheat!)
  • Leave your answer(s) in the comments.
I pick the quotes; you guess without internet aid. I'll post the results as they come in.

1. Moisture is the essence of wetness, and wetness is the essence of beauty. (zoolander.)

2.
"You listen to me, Mr. Kickass. Mr. Rubber Burner. You wipe that hot shot grin off your face or I'll shoot it off ya!" (wet, hot, american summer.)

3.I'm gonna punch you in the ovary, that's what I'm gonna do. A straight shot. Right in the babymaker. (anchorman.)

4. This is a house of lies! (almost famous.)

5.
We're just a couple of no name slobs. We belong to nobody and nobody belongs to us. We don't even belong to each other. (breakfast at tiffany's.)

6.I'm picking out a Thermos for you. Not an ordinary Thermos for you. But the extra best Thermos that you can buy, with vinyl and stripes and a cup built right in. (the jerk.)

7.Hiya kids. Here is an important message from your Uncle Bill. Don't buy drugs. Become a pop star, and they give you them for free! (love actually.)

8.You're supposed to be the leading lady in your own life, for God's sake! (the holiday.)

i only got 8. . .

"I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE. I DRINK IT UP."

put this on your blockbuster total access/netflix queue if you haven't already. 158 minutes long, but it is a good film. trust me, i normally hate movies set in this time period but i was entertained the entire time. Daniel Day-Lewis truly deserved his oscar for this movie.

evan and his dad were invited to the seeds of compassion seminar this coming friday. can you believe it?! the dalai lama! how exciting. i will pass along some of his little pearls of wisdom...

a dear childhood friend recently asked me to be maid of honor in her june wedding. i happily accepted. . . who doesn't want to be the maid of honor? : ) in the busyness of getting married, all the details have escaped my memory about preparing showers and such. (thank you to everyone who helped with mine!! you did a lot and i am thankful!!) i am beginning to think about the bridal showers we're going to have. i did a preliminary search on the internet for some fresh ideas. just to let you know, the internet sucks. there are plenty of websites but they're so poorly put together, they're not fun to look at or read. i'm already frustrated and i've barely begun! i will host the lingerie party at our apartment in seattle and we'll hold the less racy bridal shower at my parents house on whidbey. does anyone have saucy ideas for themes? i have a couple games in mind. . . my lingerie party was outrageous. : ) anyway, i figure we've all been to dozens of showers, and i'm blanking on what happened at mine. if you could let me know anything that stands out to you about some you've been to, that would be stupendous!

sorry, that last post was just a little joke. i wanted to call my mom and tell her that, but decided it would be more fun to prank anyone who might read my little blog. anyway, i am happy to say that i am not with child at the moment. . . that i know of. . . and that is a good thing for evan and i. in recent news:

-if you haven't looked at your calender, ITS APRIL. that is muy excelente. i love spring time.

-i started school monday. math is going to be hard with a LOT of work, but the teacher is kind and very good at teaching math, so with any hope, i can 4.0 this class. art history is very difficult for me because there are many people in my class who are trying very hard to sound like they know everything about art. they dont. or they would be teaching the class. my teacher is a tiny 90 year old lady with a strong latin accent. she is interesting. to this point, i don't like her teaching style much. but it is still too soon to tell. spanish is great. very advanced, but my teacher is a funny guy. in about 3 weeks, i will have written a 10 page report on spain in spanish. since i've gotten this far in spanish, i am thinking about minoring in it. conversationally, i am teeeeeeeeeeeerrible. but i am going to work hard on that.

-nannying is going so/so. will and i are starting to understand each other. with the weather nicer, we're getting to the park more often and playing catch. this interaction is good because it will help build a bond. i'm looking forward to being his nanny this summer. many excursions.

just some recent developments. in case you were curious. : )

i would like to make an announcement. . .

I'M PREGNANT!

april fools. : )
