i am looking forward to tomorrow night's vice presidential debates. it will be laughable, one for the history books. i am also excited to see how tina fey will make fun of it on saturday...

i will continue to believe what i want, write what i do, and live my life the way i do.
if it bothers you, don't read my blog.

i swear i could write a book about the funny things that will says to me. today, he overheard me talking (or lecturing, really) my mom about voting for barack obama. as i got off the phone, he said, "does your mom enjoy war or something? because if john mccain is our next president, that is what we're gonna get. more war." i chuckled, because really, what seven year old knows that much about the world outside legos and star wars? prodding a little more, i asked him what he thought about john mccain. he went on to make the best statement about him i've heard yet. "sure, john mccain is cool. if cool means he's constipated, overrated, overweight and a loser." i laughed a lot... then scolded him for calling him those names. (though inside, i'm in total agreement. heehee.)

edit: i do not mean to offend anyone's political beliefs but ... in no way do i support john mccain. after watching the presidential debates, i am absolutely embarrassed that anyone would support him. the comments made about my blog in no way support the beliefs that i uphold. (if john mccain wins, i will seriously consider moving to canada... say what you will about me, i absolutely do not care. i won't because i love washington too much. but if i didn't... heeeeello canada.)

life is . . .

 - peanut butter and honey sandwiches.
(not for me, of course. for sir william.)
 - people taking up both seats on a full bus and refusing to scoot over.
(i don't enjoy that. ever. especially when the aisle is full of standing people.)
 -  chicken fajitas with onions and peppers.
(that one is for me. yummy.)
 - making new friends in classes.
(in geology and math, i have nice friends to sit with.)
 - crude construction workers tiling my bathroom.
(it can be a little uncomfortable when i have no where to go.)

i have finally given up on summer ... i know it's officially over. i can't be depressed about starting school anymore. today i turned in my application for graduation from seattle central, and might i say what a good feeling that was. fina-freaking-lly. i have been at seattle central since the fall of 2005. i am getting veeeeeery sick of it and it is completely time to move on.

blah. i need a new rain jacket. i love clothes from rei that make me feel outdoorsy even if i am not. but i guess since i am living in seattle, i have that liberty.

recent happenings. . .

my brother brian and his wife laura welcomed a new baby boy into the world on friday, september 19. benjamin daniel jovich was born around 11 am and weighed in at 8 lbs. evan and i went to visit on saturday morning and though my opinion is a little biased, he is one of the most gorgeous babies i have seen in a long time. now we have 3 nephews and 2 nieces. there will be no children from evan and i for a while, in case you were wondering. (although, i have been having quite vivid dreams about being pregnant lately.)

our apartment building was bought by a new company a few months ago. since then, the new management has been making some big changes. new plumbing, new windows, new doors. with all theses new things, there's been a lot of construction and random people in our unit at inopportune times of the day. so, we have new plumbing, which i love. no more trying to plan my showers around the guy upstairs taking baths. we have new windows, so we can actually see the stunning view of the downtown skyline we have. and tomorrow, we'll have a new door, so i won't have to struggle and kill my fingers every time i try to unlock the deadbolt.

now, with all the new stuff, i figure it's probably time to give ol' 108 a paint job. the downside to painting is that when we move out, we'll have to paint it back to white. though honestly, i think it would be worth it to spruce up our digs for the time being. it would probably bring a lot of joy to my days when it starts getting a bit more dreary.

i began school today at seattle central which will hopefully be my last quarter. (FINALLY.) Lord willing, i will be going to uw winter quarter and spending some time finishing my undergrad. it's looking like i will be majoring in painting and drawing. at sccc this quarter, i am finishing up with geology and math 098. geology will be rockin' (haha.) because my teacher seems like a great guy and he's gone to school all over the place, so i know he's got a good educational foundation. plus, he's been there 15 years. in stark contrast to prof. hull, my math teacher seems to be a very young, inexperienced and rather dull girl. going on first impressions that is. . . it is just frustrating to me because in my experience, i learn well with a certain method and she doesn't even have a method. so we'll see how it goes. (if it's too tough, my mom did accidently buy me the instructor edition of my math book. . . though i do feel bad about it and plan on returning it.)

lastly, evan passed his firefighting physical with flying colors. now all he has to do is wait for a callback from the tacoma fire department for an interview. prayer would be greatly appreciated, for him to get a callback and that the interview will go well. : )

well, i'm off to pick up my charge from school and book it to soccer practice.

edit: though evan may become a tacoma firefighter, we will in no way be moving to tacoma. i repeat, in no way will we be moving to tacoma. c'mon, i still have quite a while at uw. . . once i get in, that is.
